Our pastor:

Rick Hyde, our pastor, has served our church since November, 2001. His formal training is from Ouachita Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned the doctor of ministry degree in 1992. He has been a full-time pastor since 1983. Before that, Bro. Rick taught public school, worked as a park ranger for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and served as a bivocational pastor.

We're trying to do at England what some say can't be done ... grow a church in a small town, do blended worship in a traditional setting, and disciple people in a modern world. MARITAL STATUS: Married to Kay Holeman of Sparkman, AR, on August 8, 1975. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Education degree (Math & Science) from Ouachita Baptist University (1976) and is employed as a high school math teacher by Stuttgart Public Schools.

CHILDREN:

Daughter, Carrie Rebecca Hyde Boggs (born April 22, 1980), engineering graduate, Arkansas State University (May, '03). Mechanical engineer, Minneapolis, MN. Husband Jason, high school chemistry teacher at Fairbauilt (MN) Public Schools.

Son, Jonathan Holeman Hyde (born November 5, 1982), radio/television/film graduate, Arkansas State University (December, '05). Currently enrolled at Truett Baptist Theological Seminary, Baylor University, Waco, Texas (January, '05) where he a dorm chaplain. He has served in camp ministries at Arkansas Baptist Assembly, Siloam Springs (Summer, 2002) and SBC LifeWay Crosspoint & Centrifuge Camps Kentucky, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, Glorieta (Summers '03, '04. '05, '06) and as Centrifuge Pastor/Preacher Western States Traveling Team ('07).

PERSONAL STATEMENT

Although I did not grow up attending church as a child, I became a Christian at the age of 15 through the outreach of a concerned pastor and youth group of the Calvary Baptist Church of Paragould, Arkansas. And, although I began college with the intention of majoring in commercial art, God called me to the ministry in my freshman year. It is by the love of the Lord and His people that I am what I am today. It is my prayer that I am sensitive to the leadership of the Lord concerning the kind and place of my ministry. I have served Him both as a bi-vocational pastor (public school teacher and government park ranger) and a full-time pastor with long and fulfilling tenures at each church.

I am committed to carrying out the Great Commission through personal work, the local church, the association, the state convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
